The four C's of diamond grading allow you
the consumer to easily understand quality and how it affects the rarity
and therefore the price of diamonds. The great thing about the 4 C's is
that it also allows you to compare different diamonds with each other
and compare different sources selling diamonds. At Marshall Edwards we
abide by the internationally known scale put forth by The Gemological
Institute of America as well as it's "sister" laboratory the American
Gem Society. These two labs are the most respected and reputable labs in
the world. They are non-profit organizations who have the consumer's
(YOU) interests at heart. Many other laboratories often solicit business
from chain stores and department stores and still want you to believe
that they are impartial judges of those diamond's qualities. We will not
mention these labs by name but be very careful about buying a diamond
that does not have a reputable certificate. Go through this section of
the site and become familiar with the terms that jewelers use when
describing quality. The more educated you become about these qualities
the better chance you have to purchase a diamond that is not only
beautiful but also is a good deal as well!
